Rental Terms
All car rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement given at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines essential terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Vehicle Rental Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Heald Green, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type, with extra charges applicable for those under 25. A valid, full driving license suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit must also be provided. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Heald Green office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and any security deposit are usually payable at the time of vehicle pickup. All charges are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through established payment platforms.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. If you anticipate returning the vehicle late, please contact us as soon as possible, as late returns may attract extra charges. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with a processing fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every car rental. Comprehensive coverage specifics and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to limit your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for damages or loss up to the insurance excess, unless further coverage is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice provided. For specific details, please review your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, off-roading, or any hazardous driving is not allowed. Transporting dangerous materials is forbidden. The vehicle must not be sub-let or operated by unauthorized drivers. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle should be used only for its intended purposes, without exceeding passenger or weight limits. Any travel outside designated geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Heald Green will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
