Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals at Heald Green are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In cases of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may vary depending on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional charges. A valid full driving licence for the relevant vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit are also necessary. Please refer to the Rental Agreement for any further requirements.
Booking and Payment Terms
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Heald Green office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are usually payable upon picking up your vehicle. Prices are listed in British Pounds and include VAT as applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, inspect the vehicle carefully and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed by both parties. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, allowing for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as when you took it; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please notify us if you expect to be late. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals at Heald Green include basic third-party insurance. You can find comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to limit your financial liability. It’s advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain responsible for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage applies. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls under your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of the vehicle for illegal purposes is strictly prohibited. Engaging in activities such as racing, rallying, or off-roading is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials is forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle must be used for its intended purpose, and adherence to passenger and weight limits is required. Travel outside of designated geographical areas requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Heald Green will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by English and Welsh law. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
Updates to Terms
